Dear Europump Council Members, Member Associations, Colleagues and guests,
We are delighted to welcome you to Paris for this 2010 Europump Annual Meeting and 50th Anniversary.
In today’s economic uncertainties, we need more than ever to share our experiences and exchange views on the development of our industry.
Working meetings of the Europump Commissions will give you an overview of the latest trends in the technical and legislative fields and in the markets.
We will have the pleasure of welcoming Mr Yvon JACOB, President of the French Federation of Mechanical Industries (FIM) and Mrs Alexandra JOUR-SCHROEDER, Head of Unit at the European Commission DG Enterprise, to hear their views on the future of the European Engineering Industry.
To celebrate this 50th Anniversary, we will enjoy the prestigious venue of Paris: in the very centre of the city, in front of the Tuileries Gardens, we will travel back to the 1900’s with a visit to the Eiffel Tower and then to the Grands Boulevards and their well known passageways.
The Saint James is a 4-star hotel, recently refurbished; we selected it for the quiet atmosphere, quite different from the impersonal style of chain hotels. We hope you will appreciate both the services offered (spa, swimming pool and several bars) and the interior garden in which we will have our breaks.
The social programme has been selected from the numerous possibilities offered by Paris: the Louvre museum visit, the guided tour of the Yves Saint Laurent exhibition in the Petit Palais, the private tour of the Chaumet Museum (jeweller since 1780) and tea at Ladurée, in the Place Vendome.
